Captree Elementary School Dedication Ceremony
- "A New Beginning"
On Saturday, October 28th, friends of the Captree family gathered for a dedication ceremony honoring the reopening of one of the district's finest elementary schools. Principal, Mrs. Bernadette Burns, began the cermony with a warm welcome to Captree School. Many honored guests, including Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Thomas Boedicker, all Board of Education members, former Captree Principal and Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Paul Kirdahy, and Congresswoman Angie Carpenter, watched as the flag donated by Rick Lazio was raised. The flag, which will now fly over Captree, has flown over our Nation's Capitol.

Captree School Spirit Song
(Sung to the tune of "America, the Beautiful)
VERSE I
The sky above was clear and blue as we entered our school.
The sun was warm and brightly shone in each and every room.
Oh Captree, Oh Captree!
Your halls are calling us.
To explore and learn as we prepare and grow to meet our challenging world.
VERSE II
Oh Captree School, Oh Captree School!
For in our thoughts you'll be.
For everyone and evermore, we pledge our hearts to thee.
Oh Captree School, Oh Captree School!
We hold your name so dear,
And as we grow, you still will show our future road is near.
VERSE III
The sun now sets just past the bridge as we close out our years.
With tears of joy, we leave you now...our memories we hold dear.
Oh Captree, Oh Captree!
You've helped us through these years.
We thank you now as we say good-bye with laughter and with tears.
