Captree Music

Ms. Peskanov's chorus did an outstanding job at their Winter Concert. Music classes have been busy practicing the recorder and learning their scales.

Orchestra did a great job at their first Winter Concert on December 11th.

Welcome to the Captree Instrumental Music Program!

Mr. Rosler and Mr. Doolittle would like to welcome all of the new young musicians to Captree Elementary School. Mr. Rosler will be teaching fourth grade band and lessons, and Mr. Doolittle will be teaching fifth grade band and lessons. All students involved in this program will have a chance to perform this year, and all 5th grade students will be assessed with evaluation sheets created by the music department to alert parents to their child's progress in band. We are looking forward to a great year!

In Mr. Rosler’s fourth grade instrumental classes students are learning all the basics of how to play their instruments. Some of the basics they will be learning are supported breath, correct posture, correct embouchure (mouth position), and correct hand position. Student’s daily responsibilities include daily practicing, proper care of their instruments and commitment to before school rehearsals. The culmination of all this work and fun will be a performance by the fourth graders at the spring concert in May. We hope to see everyone there!
