Psychologists are available to students at Captree Elementary School. They provide evaluation, counseling and assistance to students, their parents and school personnel, and are oriented to the individual educational needs of the student. The psychologists are on integral part of the educational team.

The school social worker is available to all children in the West Islip School District. The social worker provides a broad spectrum of services to teachers, parents, and students on a referral basis and acts as a liaison between school, home, the community and service agencies.
